Aboa Vetus
Old Turku
Aboa Vetus, the only archaeological museum in Finland, is a town quarter discovered underground. The ruin area of Aboa Vetus includes the remains of medieval houses. The Convent Riverfront, one of medieval Turku’s main streets, still runs through the museum area today.
Ars Nova
Contemporary art
The Aboa Vetus Ars Nova Foundation Art Collection is a varied assemblage of works from the recent history of Finnish and other Western art. The collection’s oldest works date from the end of the 19th century, but the emphasis is on works originating from after the 1950s to the present day.
Exhibitions
Aboa Vetus’ archaeological site and exhibitions tell a story of the city. You can experience authentic ruins, artefacts and medieval streets. Ars Nova exhibitions are concentrated on contemporary art and on presenting the museum art collection.
Café Pegasus
Enjoy a nice cup of coffee, a glass of wine or delicious food at our restaurant. We also offer lunch from Monday until Friday. The restaurant is open on Mondays from 11 am to 3 pm and from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
Luch is served from Monday to Friday from 11 am to 2 pm.

Aboa Vetus Ars Nova’s Museum Shop is a plentiful gift shop, which is easy to pop in to even without visiting the museums exhibitions. The Museum Shop is known for its abundant collection of postcards, jolly toys and elegant jewellery.
